I always liked the A Night of Music and Memories and have been a Dave fan since Nirvana but I really went to the show to see Social Distortion, who were excellent and didn't play long enough. The guy knows how to work a crowd which at times was louder than the band was (which was pretty freakin' loud). Dave and Chris Shiflett were absolutely shredding their guitars and Taylor was insane on the drums. I knew every song they played, and damn near knew every word Dave sang. However, that being said, I didn't realize what a big Foo fan I was until their show was over. A Night of Music and Memories should be on everyone's list of "must see live" bands. I really dug the little bit of Pink Floyd thrown in there and the Tom Petty piece was great. Towards the end of the show Dave did a really nice acoustic set that was like a soothing balm after the awesome thrashing of the previous 2 1/2 hrs. They played nonstop for 3 hours. Can't wait to see them playing the Masquerade here in Atlanta. If you were there you heard him say it!
